[RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC], [Nov. 27, 2018] — Devada, the leading resource for engaging developers around the world, announces the appointment of Matt Webb as chief financial officer. Webb adds a unique blend of media and software experience to Devada’s already stellar executive lineup.
Webb brings extensive experience in the media space through his roles at MaxPoint and most recently, as Vice President of Finance at Valassis Digital (after it acquired MaxPoint). He also worked as a Finance Director for healthcare software company M*Model.
“Matt brings new energy and perspective to our financial operations with his experience working with companies at all phases of the growth cycle,’’ said Matt Tormollen, Devada CEO. “He’s an accomplished financial executive who will help us by deploying systems and processes that will scale with our expected growth.’’
“I am very excited to join the Devada team and to build on the success that the business has seen over the past several years’’ Webb says. “Developers are critical to both technology and technology-enabled businesses, and they crave user-generated content to drive value for their organizations. Devada’s unique offering enables these developers while also providing relevant marketers with access to this valuable and information-driven segment.’’
Webb has a unique background having worked in both media technology and software. Before joining Devada, he was involved in a full range of financial and operational efforts and has been successful in partnering across all functions of his previous organizations. Webb has a great deal of experience selecting and implementing effective and scalable solutions to support growing businesses as well as supporting strategic business initiatives.
"His resume is terrific but what is even better is the culture fit. We're all focused on being data-driven, and Matt has that personality,'' Tormollen says, adding that he’s excited about how Webb will work with the new Devada C-suite hires. “We’ve got a new team here that is gelling wonderfully.”
Devada, formerly known as DZone, recently became the anchor tenant at the newest building in The Frontier in RTP. Many of the leading tech companies in the world, including IBM, Pixar, Mulesoft, and Microsoft, power their developer communities with Devada's Answerhub. Dzone.com is the premier global resource for developers to learn and share best practices and for marketers to reach that audience. It contains over 100,000 expert-contributed technical articles and is visited by nearly three million developers every month.
Earlier this year, Inc. Magazine named Devada (then DZone) one of the fastest growing private companies for the fifth consecutive year. And in early November that growth was further rewarded with the company’s second appearance on Deloitte Technology Fast 500TM list.
Devada is committed to empowering developers with products that sit at the convergence of two important trends: developers’ increased desire for authentic, user-generated content and developers’ growing importance to technology and tech-enabled companies. Devada is the leading resource for engaging developers around the world through its authoritative DZone.com media site. Devada’s AnswerHub software powers DZone.com and developer communities for many technology and tech-enabled companies, including IBM, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Epic Games, and Disney Pixar.
